Light Bulbs

Target Scope

Light bulbs having a ballast or a controller and incandescent light bulbs, except the following:

1) ones with a rated voltage of 50 V or less,

2) incandescent light bulbs except those to which JIS C 7501 (2011) applies,

3) fluorescent light bulbs except those to which JIS C 7651 (2010) applies,

4) LED lamps to which JIS C 8158 (2017) does not apply and which have a base other than E17 stipulated in JIS C 7709-1 (2018),

5) high pressure mercury lamps to which JIS C 7604 (2006) applies,

6) ones designed mainly for resistance to vibration or impact,

7) ones designed mainly for being used at places with high temperature, high humidity or low temperature,

8) ones having a drip-proof structure,

9) ones having a function for dimming the luminous flux,

10) fluorescent lamps or LED lamps whose average color rendering index stipulated in JIS Z 8726 (1990) is 90 or higher,

11) ones emitting only light of any color other than daylight color, etc. or ones emitting daylight color, etc. only in the process of toning,

12) ones having a structure comprising a light reflector,

13) ones designed for growing plants, or

14) ones designed for being used as a heat source.

As for Categories $ Target Standard Values (2), LED lamps, except the following:

1) ones with a rated voltage of 50 V or less,

2) ones whose code representing the category and shape stipulated in JIS C 8158 (2012) is not “Type A (LDA)”,

3) ones whose average color rendering index stipulated in JIS Z 8726 (1990) is 90 or higher, or

4) ones having a function for dimming the luminous flux.

Energy Consumption Efficiency

Energy consumption efficiency shall be a value obtained by dividing the total luminous flux*1 (lm) by power consumption*2 (W).

*1: Total luminous flux measurement method: JIS C 7801 (2014)
*2: Power consumption measurement methods are as follows.
・Incandescent lamps: Appendix A, JIS C 7501 (2011)
・Fluorescent lamps: Appendix A, JIS C 7620-2 (2010)
・LED lamps: Appendix A, JIS C 8157 (2011)

Categories & Target Standard Values

In the target fiscal year and each subsequent fiscal year, for each category, the weighted average value obtained by weighting energy consumption efficiency with shipment volume shall not be below the target standard value.
