The Asia Pacific region is projected to have the world’s greatest increases in energy demand and CO2 emissions. Under the overall theme of creating a low-carbon society with a view to assuring energy security, the aim of this meeting is to gather ministers responsible for energy policy in the region to discuss matters including energy security, energy policies for effective and clean use of limited resources, and promotion of CO2 emission-free energy sources.

- Currently formulating site tour program for Sunday 20 June including test driving of next generation vehicles (electric vehicles, etc.), in Tsuruga, which has a high concentration of energy facilities
- Local governments (Fukui Prefecture, Tsuruga City) are currently planning their own welcome events
